Why you should be using BOOM Digital Task Cards In Your Classroom

During the pandemic, when schools closed and teachers were scrambling to find ways to deliver meaningful virtual lessons and activities, I discovered BOOM cards.  These self-checking digital task cards are a game changer.  They were great for distance learning but I’m so excited to continue using them in class with students.

If you haven’t heard of them, BOOM cards are just like any task cards you would use in class, but they are digital.  The cards are in a deck and each card is a separate question. No printing, cutting, or prepping involved.  Once you have a deck in your library, you can use it from year to year.  What a time saver! And these cards are self-checking.  When students submit their answer, they get immediate feedback and can correct their work before moving on.

OOM cards can be used for any subject and are great for differentiating. You can assign different decks to different students, depending on their needs.  You can even use these cards in whole class lessons.  The possibilities are endless!

And best of all?  You can get a BOOM account for FREE!! There are more options with the paid account but anyone just starting out with BOOM cards will be fine with a free account.

You can find decks to buy in the shopping link on the BOOM learning site or in Teachers Pay Teachers.  Many of the decks are free as well.  Head over to BOOM learning to create an account.  My next post will cover free vs. paid accounts and how to use this incredible resource.
